Emmerdale actor Asan N’Jie made a grovelling apology to Jamie Lomas before he was sacked from the soap after threatening to “knife” the Hollyoaks star.
Asan, 25, who plays Ellis Chapman on the show, is said to have called Jamie, 44, to apologise for his actions after threatening to “kill” him in shocking footage taken at Monday’s TV Choice Awards.
A source told The Sun Online: “Asan actually called Jamie personally to apologise and they had a really good chat.
“Jamie’s fine with him now, it’s all made up and forgotten about. He doesn’t hold grudges and really appreciated the call.
“Asan was genuinely sorry about what happened and sincerely regrets it.”
According to reports, the row was sparked over money, as one of Asan’s friends is reportedly currently involved in a financial dispute with Jamie.
According to The Sun, Jamie is managing a young unnamed actor, who later wanted to leave his agency.
“Jamie had guided this young lad’s career and was responsible for him landing a gig,” a source revealed to the publication.
“However since then, he has decided he wants to leave Jamie’s agency, which Jamie is fine with, but he wants the commission he is owed.
“He is entitled to this money but it’s currently the subject of a private and personal dispute.”
The Sun reports that the unnamed actor has “befriended” Asan and he has learnt of his financial disagreement with Jamie.
Jamie and Asan subsequently came face-to-face at Monday’s TV Choice Awards, where Asan reportedly “goaded” the actor by saying things such as: “Alright, Jamie big b******s.”
Asan was sacked from Emmerdale on Wednesday afternoon, show bosses confirmed, after footage of the incident emerged.
A spokesperson for Emmerdale told OK! online: “Emmerdale suspended Asan N’Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.
“ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect.”
Asan also broke his silence on the matter, saying: “My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.
“I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.
“I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.”
According to The Mirror, Asan, who appeared to be drunk at the event, is heard saying: “Do you think you are a f**king big man? I’m going to f**king kill you. I will kill you, I will knife you.”
The publication also reports the pair had to be pulled away from each other twice by security, while Jamie’s Hollyoaks co-star Malique Thompson-Dwyer also stepped in to separate them.
