Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick, who plays Charity Dingle’s girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield on the ITV soap, took to her social media to announce that she and her fiancée tied the knot in America.
The 43 year old actress shared a gorgeous picture of herself and new wife Kate Brooks, who is a producer on Emmerdale, posing outside a chapel.
The pair look sensational in matching white with Michelle donning a flared jumpsuit with bell sleeves, while Kate rocks a stunning dress.
The newlyweds both don sunglasses and carry bouquets of flowers, while Kate ecstatically holds her arm up in the air.
Michelle captioned the black-and-white image: “In over 100 degrees heat, on Tuesday 10th September, I became Mrs Brooks. #graceland #chapelinthewoods #memphis #nextstopnashville.”
Fans sent messages of congratulations in their droves, with one person writing: “So happy for u both lots of love and happiness for your future together.”
Other fans gushed: “OMGggg this is so amazing congrats” and: “Wishing you both all the happiness in the world.” [sic]
Michelle and Kate became engaged in December 2018 when Michelle – who plays the local vet in Emmerdale – popped the question.
Sharing a cute picture of herself cuddled up to her beautiful other half, she wrote: “So after months of planning, I popped the question!!! She said yes!!! #loveislove #noordinaryproposal @katebrooks”.
It is not known how long the pair have been dating for, but they made their relationship Instagram official last September on National Coming Out Day.
Sharing an image of herself and her girlfriend wrapped up warm in coats and hats, Michelle wrote: “It will all work out in the end #behappy #nationalcomingoutday #loveislove @thekatebrooks.”
Michelle was previously married to wife Rosie Nicholl from 2015 until 2017 and she opened up on the split after two years of marriage, saying she “grew out of love.”
She said: “It was one of those unfortunate things where we did drift apart. We had the big fairytale wedding and I still love that day, it was brilliant. It’s just really sad and one of those things that happens.
“We still have our dogs which we’ll share and nobody else was involved, it just happened and it was a mutual decision.
“I don’t know how else to explain it. I grew out of love and she became more like my best friend.”
The actress has previously opened up on her relationship with Charity on Emmerdale, played by Emma Atkins.
Speaking after their characters shared their first kiss, she told The Sun: “The reaction has been incredible.
“But I think what’s great is this is two women who are in their early 40s and one of them is discovering her sexuality and who she is.
“It’s lovely and it’s refreshing and it happens in real life so it’s great to be telling that story.”
She continued: “I’ve had so many tweets and so many messages over the last couple of days saying ‘Oh thank you to you and Emma, you’re a true representation for the community’. Or others saying ‘Because of your storyline I’ve come out to my parents’.
“I’ve been getting a lot of that recently which I’ve had before in the past but even more so now.
“It’s just fantastic, if we’re helping people then that’s our job done.”
