Love Island’s Malin Andersson strips down to her underwear as she opens up about body dysmorphia and bulimia

Love Island star Malin Andersson has stripped down to her underwear to show that she’s proud of her body.

The mental health advocate is continuing to use her popularity to empower women by changing the narrative of what we see on social media.

Malin, 26, shared a Boomerang of her self standing in front of a dark grey background wearing nothing but a pair of knickers and a bra as she wiggles her hips.

Writing an impassioned caption to go with the post, Malin explained how she used to suffer with body dysmorphia and bulimia.

She wrote: “I used to suffer from body dysmorphia – I never saw what anyone else saw. This created all my eating problems. Endless calorie counting, bulimia, binge eating.

“I think a lot of us suffer from some form of body dysmorphia, you’re looking in the mirror and you’re kind of disassociated in some way. I think a good reminder is to actually physically touch yourself…

“‘Ah ok this is what my arm feels like. It’s not what I’m distorting in my head. I’m not some sort of scary monster. I’m beautiful, healthy and alive.’”

The honest post hit home with many of her 461,000 followers and gained almost 50,000 plays and over 100 comments.

Malin recently exclusively revealed how she deals with negative comments and online trolls. Malin, who starred on the 2016 series of Love Island said: “I don’t get trolled anymore, I mean obviously I’ll get the few odd comments but I just slide the comment, delete and block.

“I will not acknowledge it, but that’s due to me not giving a c**p about it anymore because I’ve been through far worse than a stupid comment.

“But to people that are experiencing it now for the first time, it’s quite heavy and I think she should just ignore it [and] learn that it’s not her, it’s not a reflection of her or who she is and they’re just random people with random opinions. You shouldn’t let it absorb you as a person.”
